Scholarships
The NHHSAO Vision is to fund a self-sustaining scholarship endowment that will aid worthy New Hanover High students. Funds will come from membership fees, fundraisers, the sale of merchandise, and donations.
The board was successful in their vision.
There are currently three (3) Endowed scholarships for graduates. Two for Cape Fear Community College, one with special interest towards industrial and trade school programs named for Robert Murray, father of Sandee Murray Spradley, class of 1967. The other CFCC was set up by Linda Hollis, class of 1956 for academic studies. The third Endowed scholarship is also for academics at UNCW by Linda Hollis, scholarship chair.
The first awarded scholarships occurred for the fall of 2021.
