Tadlock, Marvin Lane
Class of 1959Born 1941 graduated New Hanover High School 1959.
Tadlock received a Doctor of Education, Art Education/Design from the University of Georgia, Athens, a Master of Fine Arts, Sculpture and Bachelor of Fine Arts, Sculpture from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
He is a Professor of Art at Virginia Intermont College. His builds sculpture ranging from very large to small. He exhibits in national and regional outdoor and indoor sculpture competitions. His large works are on yearly loan across the Southeast and smaller ones are in competitions in the U.S. and abroad. Numerous indoor and outdoor sculptures are in private collections throughout SE United States.
Through the years he has competed in many National Outdoor Sculpture competition/ exhibitions and National Juried Exhibitions. His art has won First Place Awards, Best of Show and Merit Awards juried by renowned sculptors.
