Nixon, Christopher Trotman “Trot”
Class of 1993Born April 11, 1974 graduated from New Hanover High School 1993.
As a senior, he named State Player of the Year in both football and baseball. In football he broke school passing records held by former NFL quarterbacks Sonny Jurgensen and Roman Gabriel.
Trot was a professional baseball right fielder. He played MLB with the Boston Red Sox, team won the 2004 World Series, played for the Cleveland Indians and the New York Mets. He currently serves as co-host/analyst for “The 5th Quarter”, a high school football highlight show in Wilmington, NC.
Nixon was inducted into the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.
