Memorabilia

Are you wondering what to do with your grandparents or parents NHHS annual, ring, sweater letter, photos, awards, diploma, etc?

Donate it to the Alumni organization.  Or loan it to the organization for the 100th gathering.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful for cherished items from each decade to be displayed?  What are your thoughts and ideas to preserve historical item?  Let us hear from you.

Alumni Meeting

Next meeting is Monday, January 27 in NHHS Media Center at 9 am.  Attendees’ must pre-register by sending an email before January 25th to nhhsalumniorg@gmail.com.

Facebook

The Facebook page was created 11/11/19 by Gene Downy ’72 former computer teacher at NHHS.  The committee wanted to offer a place NHHS alumni may communicate with each other, reminisce, offer reunion information, celebrate NHHS achievements and have other positive interactions.  Keep it growing to 10,000!  Click Like to be approved.

Website coming soon

The website nhhsalumni.org is operating in a basic skeleton stage.  There is a Join Us membership link through Paypal for $20.  The first 100 will be considered Charter NHHS Alumni 2020 Members.  On January 6, 2020 there were more than a dozen members and the site is not officially open yet.  Please consider joining each year to help raise funds for the yearly scholarship(s) to use at Cape Fear Community College.   Alumni are reviewing the current scholarships available to determine where there is a need.  Do you have suggestions?   Send your ideas for consideration to the email address.

Outstanding Alumni

Outstanding Alumni forms may be obtained through the email address.  Applications will be approved by the board then added to the web page for recognition.

LOGO

Many thanks go to George Murray ’67 with Murray Signs and Graphics for his patience as board members worked to create the alumni logo with his help.   Coming in the future will be the opportunity to pre-order alumni items through the website for reunions.  Reunion leaders, aka class agents, would pick up alumni souvenir orders and disseminate at their reunion.

Business Plan

Alumni board members are developing the business plan for submission to the IRS for tax exempt status.  They are looking for business professionals to aid in completion of the application.  Can you recommend someone?
