Moore, Robert Nunalee

Class of 1955

Bob graduated New Hanover High School in 1955.  After attending Wingate Junior College from 1955-57, he signed with the Cleveland Indians organizations, playing minor league baseball in New York and Nebraska.  He later returned to East Carolina University where he earned a BS in Education as well as MS School Administration.  Bob taught at Bradley Creek Elementary and at Tileston Junior High School where he coached baseball, basketball and football.  He became principle at Noble Middle School, New Hanover High School and Myrtle Grove Middle School.  Bob spent the majority of his tenure at NHHS as principal from 1977-1992.  He was a member of Temple Baptist Church for nearly 70 years where he taught Sunday School and was President of the Temple Brotherhood.

Bob was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for his exemplary service and exceptional accomplishments to the state of North Carolina.
